Results of my School's Work

Thursday, April 21, 2011, my whole school learned to fold paper cranes. 750 kids from kindergarden to grade 9 worked to reach my goal of 1,000 cranes.

Here are some pictures of our cranes and some of my fellow students.

We spent a lot of time this weekend counting the cranes. Here is my living room.

After counting them this weekend, we folded 779 cranes. My Baba made another 38 and my family made another 22. So far, we have 839 cranes. 161 to go.

To everyone in my school, thanks for your support in helping Japan.

Today, my Dad and I made a video of my comments to the school assembly I have been asked to speak at Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Here it is.

My whole school will be making cranes this week. Once we reach my goal, we will be having our cranes sent to Japan with the Cranes for Hope team.

My blog is part of a bigger blog called Cranesforhope.ca. If you go there, there will be a link to my blog and many other things. My parents and I are working with a big team of people wanting to help people in Japan.

So far, my friends and family have made over 90 cranes. Next week, I get to share this blog and my message to my whole school with my Dad. I hope to have 1 crane for each person in my school and see at least $1 donated for each child in my school to the Red Cross.

All the cranes my school makes will go to Japan with donations in May with a group going to Japan to deliver them to schools. The cranes made by other schools will also be sent to Japanese schools to help then know we are helping them.
